6. Bangkok, Thailand

If you're walking around popular tourist areas in Bangkok, like Wat Pho, you'll definitely be solicited by tuk tuk drivers. One of these "friendly" guys stopped us and we chatted. He told us the nearby temple Wat Arun was closed for the day but other beautiful spots, only a short drive away, were still open. We thanked him for the info but told him we had a motorbike and didn't need a lift… Amanda even offered him 20 baht for his time, but he declined. As we walked back to the motorbike we remembered a story we read online about scams. Drivers will often tell tourists that places are closed in hopes to give them rides to other sites. We turned back, and Wat Arun wasn't closed! That sneaky S.O.B. – at least he had the decency not to take our ? Consider this a #Traveltip for anyone coming to Bangkok ? . . .
