Set to revolutionize train travel in Mexico, the Maya Train project has raised the bar even higher by announcing what culinary experiences travelers can expect to enjoy onboard.
With three classes of trains, the Maya Train promises to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of its passengers. The most exciting addition to this project is a specialized restaurant car that will feature a specially designed kitchen that’s dedicated to preparing typical dishes from each region the train passes through, allowing passengers to taste the rich gastronomic diversity of Mexico. The dining car will have an industrial-style kitchen capable of serving up to 140 passengers and will be creatively designed with tables for couples, groups of four and people with mobility disabilities.

The dishes will be prepared in real-time, ensuring fresh and authentic food. For those seeking lighter options or a quick coffee during their journey, all trains will also offer cafeteria service. The most basic train car will provide pre-heated food services, while cafeteria options will be available for those seeking a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, snacks and light meals.
Moreover, the longest-distance trains will include wagons with bedrooms with reclining seats, private cabins with a bathroom and shower, and seats that can be transformed into beds for overnight travel. These cabins will be equipped with intercom systems to access all necessary services, ensuring that passengers have everything they need right at their fingertips. Projected to open in December 2023, the Maya Train promises to offer a unique and unforgettable experience, not just in transportation, but also in the diversity of dining options and amenities on board.
