TripAdvisor just released its list of World’s Best Hotels for Families with 2016 Travelers’ Choice Awards. “These Travelers’ Choice award-winners make it easier for parents to find that perfect hotel for their next family trip,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor. And being TripAdvisor, the hotels were determined based on reviews from travelers off the TripAdvisor website over a 12-month period. It focused on reviews marked as a family stay and also took into account the quantity and quality of the reviews.

The results were released in two lists: Top 10 Travelers’ Choice Hotels for Families in the U.S., which was naturally dominated by Orlando and Anaheim resorts filled with Mickey ears and cinnamon churros, and Top 10 Travelers’ Choice Hotels for Families in the World, whose list varies from Italy to Turks and Caicos. Placing No. 8 on the list, however, is Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Esmeralda.
