Sandos Caracol Eco Resort has announced phase two of its 639-room renovation of their Family Section, creating a superb retreat for multigenerational travelers while catering to every family member’s needs and comfort. Centered in the mystical Mayan jungle, an area teeming with culture and history, the $50 million investment will continue to uphold the resort’s standards of offering families more convenience, comfort and entertainment. Featuring amenities like seamless in-room Wi-Fi, newly designed splash pools, cozy bunk beds and private bathrooms, the new rooms will gratify parents and children alike.
Each suite will have an array of natural, earthy tones that adhere to the eco motif of the design and will feature rustic wood paneling on the walls and floors with pops of Caribbean-inspired colors. Continuing the four-year transformation of the resort’s family guestrooms, phase two of the renovations will offer three distinct room categories including: Eco Superior, Eco Family Suite and Eco Family Penthouse.
In the Eco Superior rooms, one king size bed and a bunk bed are strategically included. Meanwhile in the Eco Family Suite, a king size bed and a bunk bed for three are included. On the balconies of the Eco Family Suite, tiny travelers will be delighted to find that hot tubs have been replaced by personal plunge pools and when it’s time to turn in, mom and dad will tuck the tots into cozy bunk beds that take the place of stuffy rollaway beds.

Slated to be completed just in time for a warm winter getaway, phase two will revamp 256 rooms, creating 212 Eco Superior rooms, 20 Eco Family Suites and 24 Eco Family Penthouses.
For the first time ever, families of five will also have the option of vacationing in the Eco Family Penthouses, which will feature a master bedroom with a king size bed and private bathroom for adults, along with a separate bedroom with a bunkbed for three, a sofa and an additional bathroom for the children.
The new rooms will be available for booking on December 23, 2017 with rates starting at $334 per person, per night. A special room rate for children under the age of 12 offers a 50-percent discount off the first child, a complimentary stay for the second child and a 50-percent discounted rate for the third child (only applicable in the Eco Family Suite).
